Fitting handrail.

Staircases and handrails are a very specialised side of the joinery industry.

Even more so when it comes to curved stairs and handrails.

The strength in the handrail comes from two main factors; the timber used and the accuracy in getting the joints cut precisely, allowing the bolts and glue to work together.

This also adds to the natural beauty of the handrail; as any open joints would leave black lines and a difference in levels where the sections meet.

Unlike kitchens and bathrooms a handrail is likely to last a life time or two and should require minimum maintenance.

A number of the jobs London handrails carry out are the repair of handrails and staircases that are over 100 years old and apart from a few loose joints they are still functioning as well as the day they were fitted.

We take pride in the fact that someone may have to repair our work in a couple of hundred years time.

All our fitters are trained with this in mind and work to the best standards available in the industry, mixing both traditional skills with modern day technology and allowing us to create in days and weeks what would previously have taken months and years.

The tool kits that London handrail’s fitters use, are very comprehensive, allowing them to achieve the very best during both the fitting and the finishing processes.
